12 "frustrated" franchises
We decided to recall the most vivid examples of failed franchises, each new step worse than the previous one
Classic thriller Хичкокока Is an unconditional masterpiece. An innovative picture, with a brilliant suspense, bold for its time plot, director, camera moves - the picture really changed the movie. Even Alfred Hitchcock looked at his creation with caution, any attempt to repeat the success of "Psycho" could hurt the encroached, because the sequel of the great film could not appear until the very death of the master. Second Ribbon about Norman Bates came out only in 1983 year and instantly bared the obvious: Richard Franklin up to Hitchcock away. Under the pressure of fashion on the slashers of the 70-80-x line, the filigree psychological twilight was replaced by a banal crumbler. What can I say about third movie, shot by Norman Bates himself (sorry, Anthony Perkins), or fourth, conceived as a prequel, but in fact turned out to be a third-rate fragmentary porridge. The final point in 1998 year put Gus Van Sent time-lapse remake, completely crossed out the future of "Psycho" for the big screen.
